Sense Theatre provides extra-curricular drama clubs and sessions for young people aged 4 to 11. The company was founded in 2011 by Lauren Prentice, a graduate from East 15 Acting School’s Acting and Community Theatre degree, with the aim of enhancing children’s confidence and self-esteem through tailored drama games and activities.
We now offer:
• Term-time after-school clubs
• Birthday parties
• Youth Theatres
• Ofsted registered camps in the school holidays
• Pre-School groups
• PPA Cover• Drama to improve social interaction skills for children with ASD
Our clubs are based around termly themes, which have included Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, Dreams and many others. Each workshop incorporates a range of different activities from drama and acting to circus skills, singing, dancing and puppetry. This variety means that every class is new and exciting, and each child is guaranteed to discover a new talent he or she wants to show off! By encouraging even the shyest children to take part, our workshops allow them to express their creativity in a comfortable and supportive environment. Whether they wish to make new friends or build their confidence in the classroom, we can help them to achieve their own personal milestones.
Lauren works with a team of professional workshop leaders, who get to know the children and tailor each session to their specific needs. Each child is made to feel valued, allowing their creativity and imagination to fuel their confidence. Through plenty of positive reinforcement such as praise, stickers, high-fives and prizes, our teachers make sure children have fun and feel great about their achievements – however big or small.
